New Hope is owned by Iron Stream Media, a fast-growing Christian company that also publishes Life Bible Study, Student Life, dLife, and the Time to Revive Gospel Tabbed New Testament. ISM also provides a variety of solutions for churches, missionaries, and non-profits ranging from in-depth Bible study curriculum and Christian book publishing to custom publishing and consultative services.
New Hope is currently looking for Christian Living titles focused on women’s issues and spiritual & personal growth. We are also looking for suspense, women’s fiction & mainstream, and visionary. We are not currently looking for historical or contemporary romance.
Ramona Richards is a 30-year veteran of Christian publishing, and is now the associate publisher for New Hope Publishers, located in Birmingham, Alabama. She writes too, and her latest book is My Mother’s Quilts, from Worthy Publishing.
Writing for New Hope Publishers…and other advice
This session will begin with a review of the changes that have taken place at New Hope Publishers over the past year and will continue with a description of the type of books we are looking for at this time. But because Ramona can’t stay on topic, it’ll also involve general questions about writing, editing, the Christian market, custom and self-publishing, and what editors look for in a writer. If time allows, she’ll hand out chocolate and discuss why tea is better than coffee.
